Champorado Recipe (Chocolate Rice Porridge)
Champorado is one of the pinoy’s favorite breakfast or snack especially children because of the great taste of chocolate. Eating champorado involved pouring evaporated milk in circles over a bowl of champorado.
Ingredients:
1 cup of malagkit or rice
1/2 cup cocoa powder or milo powder
1/2 cup of sugar
4 1/2 cups of water
Evaporated Milk
Procedures:
- In a medium sauce pan, cook rice with water.
- Stir constantly while boiling.
- When rice is cooked or ready (transparent), add cocoa or milo and sugar.
- Cook until rice is tender. If rice is too dry, add little more water. I prefer to have a bit soupy and adjust sugar to taste.
- Serve champorado with a swirl of evaporated milk on top.
