This recipe is taken from the magazine, Good Housekeeping, and I find it interesting to share since I have 5 years old daughter who loves to eat.

Use cookie cutters and shape into Christmas angels, stars, or trees.

Takes: 20 to 25 minutes
Bakes: 20 minutes
Makes 16 to 20 bars

1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon instant coffee
6 tablespoons melted Magnolia Gold Butter
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped

Preparations:
1.    Preheat oven to 325 degree F. Grease and line an 8 inch square pan.
2.    Combine the flour and baking powder.
3.    In a bowl, beat the egg with the sugar , coffee, melted butter, and syrup.  Mix until sugar is dissolved
4.    Add chocolate chips and nuts.  Fold in the flour mixture.
5.    Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes or until done.
6.    Cool then cut into bars.  Sprinkle with some powdered sugar.

My friend of mine was thinking to prepared food for her kids, I suddenly remember a recipe from Good Housekeeping Magazine and I suggest her to try this peach mango wantons.  Her kids love this recipe.

Put the filling at the last minute so the wanton cups remain crisp.  Have ice cream on the side and serve ala mode. This recipe takes 20 minutes to prepares, bakes about 10 minutes and makes 12 pieces.

Ingredients:
24 pieces wanton wrappers
1/4  cup Magnolia Gold Butter, melted
2 tablespoon sugar

Filling:
1/2 cup Magnolia Gold Butter
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons rum
2 tablespoons flour
1 ripe mango, cubed
6 pieces peach halves, cuber

Procedures:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit.
2. Brush a wanton wrapper with some butter.  Top with another wrapper and brush with more butter.  Sprinkle with sugar then fit into a muffin pan.  Do the same for the remaining wrappers.
3. Bake 5 to 6 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
4. In a pan, melt the butter and add the sugar and rum  Cook for 1 minute then add the flour.  Mix well.
5. Stir in the fruits then remove from heat.
6. Fill wanton cups with the fruit filling.  Top with ice cream, if desired.

I decided to cook embutido last holiday season through the instruction of my friend.

Ingredients:

1 lb ground pork
1/2  cup of chopped carrots
3 whole eggs
1/4 cup of raisins
1/3 cup sweet pickle relish
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
3 tbsp. crushed red bell pepper
3 tbsp. crushed green bell pepper
1 cup chopped sweet or cooked ham
Slices of hard cooked eggs
Slices of Vienna sausage
1 tbsp cornstarch
Salt and pepper to taste
Aluminum foil (10” x 12”)

Procedures:

1.    Combine and mix well all the ingredients.
2.    Spread the mixture on the aluminum foil.
3.    Divide the slices of hard cook eggs and Vienna sausages and place its slices at the center of each mixture.
4.    Shape into roll and wrap with aluminum foil.
5.    Bake for 1 hour at 350 F.
6.    Remove from over and serve it with catsup. If there is unused embutido, refrigerate it.
