When to Quit and Walk Away

They say that perseverance is a key to success and there’s an old saying that “Try and Try until you succeed”. But it is possible to move on life more by quitting things that does not give you any satisfaction?

Quitting sometimes give us more time for ourselves and think what is really the best for us. We just need to admit that we have had enough. Acknowledging the truth for ourselves without a blame or denial make us decide to quit for the things that are not meant for us. One of my friends admits that she does not have a talent of professional painter so she decided to quit and now she is happy for being an art work teacher.  Recognizing the truth does not mean giving up altogether but it is just a wake up call telling us to do things differently and cope with life’s challenges.

Four years ago, I put a computer shop business. Almost all of my time is consumed by my small business and returning only a little earnings. Before, I don’t really want to quit because I poured my heart and soul into it. For me, quitting my business is a failure. But when I had my daughter, I decided to sold out my shop and become a full time mother. Now, I’m so glad that I quit.  I have more time for myself and family and experience a sense of relief. I have time to see more opportunities that coming through.

Giving up is difficult decision to make but tried to see the consequences and know the advantages and disadvantages then it is no hard to quit. Sometime letting go of relationship will give us peace of mind and a more comfortable life.

A key to quit is identifying your limit. If you know your limit, then you can judge for yourself and decide when is appropriate to quit.  If you know that you try harder and put more time and quitting is a stress free, so why not give yourself a chance to quit without guilt feelings or negative consequences.

Walking away or quitting does not mean a failure. It is a learning experience for life’s challenges for everyday lives.
