Squid Adobo (Adobong Pusit)
Once in a while I cooked Squid Adobo. Aside from being delicious, squid is known to be an excellent source of phosphorus, riboflavin and vitamin B12 which necessary in maintaining balance diet. It is also relatively low in calories.
Ingredients:
1/2 kilo squids (pusit), cleaned
4-5 cloves garlic, minced
1 large size onion, sliced
1/2 cup vinegar
3 cups water
cooking oil
1/4 cup calamansi juice
1/4 cup Soy sauce
Pepper
Procedures:
- In a pan, heat oil and sauté garlic and onion.
- Add cleaned squids and stir for 2 minutes.
- Put water and vinegar. Lower heat and simmer for about 15 minutes or until squid is done. Do not stir. Do not over cook squids to prevent meat from being tough.
- Add soy sauce and cook again for another 2 minutes. Finally add calamansi juice.
- Put pepper and salt to taste.
- Remove in the pan and now ready to serve.
