Sautéed Shrimp Paste or Sauteed Sauce (Ginisang Bagoong Alamang)

Shrimp paste or shrimp sauce is use as dipping sauce for fish and vegetables.  It is made from shrimp or krill (alamang) and is commonly eaten with unripe or green mangoes. It is also serve with kare-kare.


Ingredients:

1/4 kilo ground meat
1/2 cup bagoong (shrimp paste)
2 tbsp. white sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar
4-5 gloves garlc, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
2 pcs. green chilies, cut into small piece (optional)
cooking oil

Procedures:

  1. In a pan, sauté garlic and onion.
  2. Add ground meat. Mix together and simmer for about 3 minutes or until the meat is tender.
  3. Put bagoong and chilies and mix together.
  4. Add vinegar and sugar. Mix together and simmer for 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and serve.
