My Simple Chicken Tomato Sauce Recipe
I cannot decide what to cook this day. I found tomato sauce in my kitchen and a chicken in our refrigerator plus carrot so I end up preparing a simple chicken tomato sauce. This recipe is also called chicken apritada, just add red and green bell pepper. Tomato sauce is contain lycopene which act as antioxidant to help reduce certain cancer.
1 kilo chicken, cut into pieces
2 pieces carrots, cut into serving pieces
2 pieces potatoes, cut into serving pieces
1 medium size onion, sliced
115 g tomato sauce
1 head garlic, minced
3 tablespoon cooking oil
4 to 5 cups of water
Salt to taste
Preparation:
- In saucepan, sauté onion and garlic.
- Add chicken until brown.
- Put in water and tomato sauce. Simmer for about 20 minutes or until the chicken is almost cooked.
- Add carrots and potatoes. Simmer for another 8 to 10 minutes.
- Add salt to taste.
- Remove from heat and serve.
* You can add red and green bell pepper to this recipe.
